January and February

In January, I was short by $620, but in February I received $240 more! So far for 2009, I am short by $380. As Alan and me prepare to get married, we are looking to raise an additional $500 per month to do ministry.

End of the year Report

Thank you so much! I exceeded my C budget for the 2008. I have been approved to start on my B Budget beginning January 2009. I will be adding additional money into the G.O. Kids program, national partnerships and will be able to do more ministry with this money! It is so exciting to see the Lord provide!

September-November Giving Report

Here is the financial rundown for September, October, and November!

September: I received $2040 more than my budget

October: I received $715 more than my budget

November: I received $1120 more than my budget.

I am overwhelmed by the generosity of God's people. We truly cannot outgive him and I pray that he continues to bless you as you sacrificially give to advance His kingdom.

I am so thankful to report that I have made my budget for the year and in 2009 I will be starting on my "B" budget. (In 2008, I operated on my "C" budget)

This will be an act of faith for me as the total I will need to receive in 2009 will be 6000 more than what I received in all of 2008. In January I will post a much more detailed list of what 2008 held financially!

After receiving my financial statement for August 2008, I sat in awe as I realized I am one month away from reaching my "C" budget for the entire year. This means- the total amount I need to raise for 2008 could be met next month. I am 5 months away (at my "c" budget total) of reaching my "B" budget for the year.

Please continue to pray for me to reach this goal, as it would kick in more support to our G.O. Kids program, partnerships, and more.

As I reviewed my finances for the first half of 2008, I have been consistently over my "C" budget by over $1,000 each month. This is great, because as most of you know I purchased a vehicle in May this year. As I continue to look toward reaching my "B" budget, which would allow for more children to be sponsored, more Nationals to recieve sponsorship, and more ministry money I would ask you to pray about how you can become a part of me reaching this goal.

To you faithful givers- thank you. I pray God blesses each of you for your sacrifices for advancing the Kingdom.

To you prayer warriors- I am forever grateful to you. Please continue to lift the work God is doing here in the D.R. and Haiti up in prayer.

To those of you who haven given a one-time gift (or several one-time gifts), would you consider gifting that each year? Or consider a monthly partnership?

April and May

Thank you for your contibutions in April and May. I found myself again above my "C" budget, which I can only attribute to our gracious LORD, Jesus Christ. In addition to going above my "C" budget I also received several gifts for my ministry vehicle which I was able to purchase on April 25th!
In April I received new support from Hamilton Life Church in Chatanooga, TN, and a new church in San Francisco is considering a partnership beginning in 2009. I am so grateful to my friends Ben, Laura, Rob, and Missy who over the last year have facilitated the meetings with these churches.
I look forward to how God will use Hamilton Life Church and Central Peninsula Church to further his work in the D.R.
It was a wonderful time in Las Vegas as well, visiting with supporters and Soulstice Church who currently supports me.

March Finances

God is good! For the second month in a row, I have made my budget and then some! I am so grateful for the special gifts I received this month. I was able to support two kids in the G.O. School for an entire year and the balance of the overage is going into an account which will help me buy a Ministry Vehicle that will be invaluable to the ministry. I hope to purchase this vehicle by June of 2008! I will be posting more details about the vehicle this week. It is a Toyota Tacoma! If you wish to contribute to the vehicle fund, please leave me a comment and I will email you with the information.

February givings...

I just wanted to extend a special thank you to those of you who answered my prayer and gave extra last month. God blessed me with double the amount I needed and this extra amount will go towards reaching my "b" budget. The money I raise, not only goes towards my living expenses, but feeds children, builds churches, and nutrition centers on this island.

"B" Budget... Here I Come!

I wanted to take an opportunity to give you an update on my finances. I am currently meeting my 2008 "C" budget and have raised 1/2 the amount I need to begin operating on my "B" budget. I am $545 a month away from meeting this goal, or a lump sum of $6540. Please pray about how you can contribute to this goal. Once I meet my "B" budget, I will be able to sponsor more kids in our G.O. School which will allow them to receive a Christian Education. I will be able to give more money to our National Partnerships which will allow Christian men and women to focus on serving God and their communities.
It has been a blessing to be serving God in this capacity and I thank you all for journeying along with me!

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for what you have sacrificed in order that I may follow in the LORD's plan for my life!

I am currently opperating on my C budget which is $3,675.00. For the month of August I received $3,415.00 (260.00 short) and for September $3,465.00 (210.00 short). Both months I have come in just shy of meeting my monthly requirement. This doesn't seem bad, but as I look at my commitments I have $3,815.00 pledged in monthly support. This means I am not just 200.00 short, but actually $400 short, multiplied by two and that is $800 short; the amount I am able to do ministry with each month.

I want to encourage you, if you are financially contributing, God is moving, and as I head back to the states in just a few weeks, I am excited to share with you what he has allowed me to do with your donations. If you are not giving and have pledged, please pray about this and I would ask for you to continue in your faithfulness with the commitment you made to the LORD.

God is so good! He has graciously provided for me and thanks to the so many who are making finacial sacrafices everyday to support the work God is doing here in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. I have, each month, met my "c" budget. This is, as you know, very important, as it allows me to be able to do ministry above and beyond what the organization as a whole does.
I am currently seeking places to raise my support from my "c" to my "b" budget. This means I need an extra $900 a month.

Do you know any churches, small groups, businesses, or individuals that would like to financially support a missionary? Please send them a link to my blogspot or send me their email address and I can get in touch with them!

God is rarely early, but never late.

Do you ever wonder sometimes if God is *really* going to come through for you?
Do you struggle with doubt?
If you are anything like me- you do.
I have taken several spiritual gifts tests and among my top gifts have always been faith. Why then, did I struggle with this idea that God was not going to provide financially for me?
You see, as I have explained to many of you- at G.O. we have an A, B, and C budget. The C budget being the lowest of the three. This is done in order to "green light" which ever budget you are funded for, but you can't go to the field without your C budget funded.
When I first met with Brook- the President of G.O. he clearly laid out the different areas we needed to have included in our budget. Things ranging from travel, food, health insurance, medical savings, to National and Child Sponsorship. I felt that God wanted me to not just raise enough money to support one child through the sponsorship program, but 10 kids, so it goes with other areas of my budget.
As i began to raise support and realized how much I would need to rely upon God for this kind of big provision, I was scared. As things slowly began to trickle in, I thought maybe I was overzealous with my budget. I thought maybe I was asking to much from God.
On several occasions I thought to change my budget. I was $1200 a month short. If I changed the amount of kids, nationals, and ministry money each month I would only be $200 a month short, which was far easier for God to do.
I sat in Brook's office and he told me I could change it, but I *might* miss God's power in it.
After prayer, I felt that God was saying "I have called you to raise this, and I am going to provide this." And again I was scared.
As the weeks, and then days drew closer to my D.R. departure date I was still $1200 a month short. Only one month to go, then 3 weeks, then 2 weeks, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days... still $1200 short.
After several meetings in my final days in Las Vegas I received confirmation that the full $1200 a month was raised!!!!!! I was leaving the next day.
God's delays are never his denials. I realized that this was how God needed to get through to me... He is God. Not I. He provided the $1200 a month for me to go to the D.R. not I.
So I have reached my C budget only 24 hours before I left for the D.R.... man, God is good!
Now I have a new goal. I am $900 short of meeting my B budget. With my confidence and faith restored I am ready to get on with the task God has set out before me.
Do you doubt God?
When this journey first began I asked the LORD to stretch me, grow me, and deepen my faith in him. He has heard and answered my prayers through YOU!! My faithful Partnership team!

May 07 Update

I have been on this wild and exciting journey to becoming a missionary in a place close to my heart for three years now. The Island of Hispaniola. One of the most challenging and faith building parts of being a missionary is... fundraising!

We must learn to trust the LORD and hope only in Him. We learn of his great provisions and also his great denials. I learned early on in this process that it is the LORD alone who is my provider. A very big thing happened tonight. I have been praying and praying asking God to provide the funds needed for me to begin working on the field. Tonight I got closer. A family has decided to support my work with G.O. and has brought me within $700 short of reaching my C Budget. (Read the side column for an explanation of budgets) God is so good and so faithful to hear our prayers and to answer our cries... In HIS timing!

I would please ask each of you, as you read this, to please search your heart, and ask God how he may use you to bring glory to His name in the D.R. and Haiti. Currently I am $700 short of my bottom budget.
Would you consider a partnership with me?
I must grow my support in order to continue to work on the field. I am able to be there for the summer but will likely have to return home in the Fall/ Winter to continue fundraising if my budget is not met.
